Description
No. 4 High Street is a building from the late 17th century or early 18th century, which has been altered and is said to be timber framed. It stands two storeys high with two gables at the front. The exterior is rendered and features moulded bargeboards with a fretted soffit, and the gables are covered with old tiles. Each gable has one late glazed sash window set in a flush moulded frame. The ground floor has a mid-19th century shop front that includes a central recessed entrance, four panelled pilasters, and thin colonnettes that separate the glazing, topped with a modillion cornice on the fascia. Inside, there are very high, possibly late 16th century, deeply moulded beams in the shop.
