Description
This is a terrace of twelve houses located in Lower Brixham, built in the early 19th century. The houses are stepped up the hillside and have solid rendered fronts, with the right-side wall of number 7 being stone rubble. They have slated roofs and most have a rendered chimney on one of the side walls. The houses follow a double-depth plan, and each is one room wide. There is a small gap between numbers 15 and 17. Number 7 is two storeys high, while the remaining houses are three storeys high. The frontages are uniform, with one window per storey, which are set to the left or right. There is a round-arched doorway on the other side of the terrace. Number 9 has a six-panelled door, with the two bottom panels flush and a lion-head knocker (the striking-piece is missing). A matching door is found at number 11, which includes a combined knocker and letterbox. Number 15 has a four-panelled door, while numbers 25 and 27 have six-panelled doors that match those at numbers 9 and 11; the upper panels of number 25 are now glazed. The other doors are from the late 20th century, made of wood, except for the aluminium-framed door at number 17. The windows at numbers 9, 11, 15, 23 and 29 have eight-paned sashes, with those at number 29 being late 20th-century replicas. Numbers 7 and 19 have plain sashes. The other windows throughout the terrace have late 20th-century wood, plastic, or aluminium-framed windows.
