Description

These churchyard walls, gate piers, and gates probably date to the 1890s, built alongside the first phase of the nearby Church of St Andrew, designed by Fulford, Tait and Harvey. The walls utilize local red breccia stone with a yellow brick topping. There are three sets of gate piers, each square with gabled caps and blind, trefoil-headed arches. Pedestrian gates provide access from Sands Road and St Andrews Road, while a combined vehicular and pedestrian gate is located on the west side. The wrought-iron gates feature panels with cusped arched motifs and square section verticals. The structures are included in the listing for their group value with the church.
