Description

10 Sheep Street is a building that likely dates from the mid-18th century, although some of its fabric may be older. It stands two and a half storeys tall and is constructed of painted rubble. The right side features flush ashlar quoins. The building has two bays with glazing bar sash windows that have segmental heads on the ground floor. To the left, there is a four-panel door, which is also segmental headed. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and includes gabled dormers, along with weathered coping and a moulded footstone on the right-hand gable. A brick chimney is located at the gable end. Historically, this building was known as a 'Bush House', which was a type of unlicensed beer house that operated on market days.
