Description
Church House is a dignified two-storey town house built around 1765. It features five bays and is constructed of rubble with flush ashlar quoins. The modern slate roof is hipped to the left and has weathered stone verge coping with a moulded footstone to the right. A brick chimney is located on the right side of the building.
On the first floor, there are five windows, while the ground floor has two windows; all are glazing bar sashes except for the left ground floor window. The windows have wooden lintels. The central doorway is topped with a bracketed flat hood and features a six-panel door, with the upper two panels being glazed, and a two-pane overlight above.
Additionally, there is a four-window return to Vicarage Lane, along with a two-storey lower stable and malthouse wing, which was formerly a brewery in the 19th century. This wing has stone tile roofs and some brick quoined dressings.
