Description
Littlecot is a building that likely dates from the early 18th century and consists of two cottages made from chalk rubble resting on a sarsen stone plinth. The structure is one and a half storeys high and features a thatched roof. The left-hand cottage is lower and was slightly extended in the mid-19th century, showcasing brick quoins. It has one dormer that is cut into the thatch and one brick chimney. There is an angled bay on a brick base to the left of a plank door, which is sheltered by a thatched hood.
The right-hand part of the building is constructed from coursed and dressed chalk rubble. It has two ranges of windows featuring two and three light casements with timber lintels on the ground floor. This section includes one brick chimney and a cellar window to the right. There is also a single-storey extension to the right, which may have originally been a wagon shed; its opening is now blocked, but it has one window. Inside the right-hand cottage, there is a large fireplace with a slightly cambered lintel and chamfered surrounds.
