Description

Rose Cottage is a thatched cottage dating from the 18th century or early 19th century, located on the east side of High Street in Bishopstone. The building is one and a half storeys high and constructed from chalk rubble, with some sarsen stones and brick dressings on the left-hand bay. It features two brick chimneys on the left side. The cottage has two eyebrow dormers; one contains a glazing bar sash window with brick dressings, while the other is a tripartite window. On the ground floor, there is a mid-19th century glazing bar sash window to the left, and a four-panel door to the left of centre, which is sheltered by a weather porch. To the right, there are two altered windows. At the rear, there is a single-storey 'L' shaped stable wing with a tin roof.
