Description

The cottages date from the 18th century and were altered in the mid-19th century. They are arranged in an "L" shape. They have a thatched roof, with painted chalk rubble walls on a hard stone base. A brick chimney runs along the ridge. The roof is hipped on the right-hand side. There are two large gables, each containing attic windows, with segmental-headed three-light casement windows; the right-hand window has brick detailing, and the left-hand window has a brick lining. There is one angled bay window and one window on the ground floor, both with segmental-headed casement windows. Access to Titcheners Cottage is from the rear. Lilac Cottage has a segmental-headed doorway in a single-storey section to the right of the window. Titcheners Cottage has a small two-light casement window in the north gable and a cellar light below the right-hand window. Lilac Cottage has a brick half-hipped gable end above the ground floor.
