Description
This is a row of cottages dating from the 17th century, which has been modernized. The cottages are constructed of random rubble with a thatched roof and feature four brick chimneys along the ridge. Number 3 is slightly different, with 1½ storeys and an early 19th-century three-light casement dormer window. The window openings have been altered. Each cottage has one bay, except for number 5, which has two. One cottage has a timber frame with a brick infill extension to the right and a mid-19th century single-storey stone and brick thatched extension set back to the right. Each cottage has a gabled porch. A stone tablet in the chimney between numbers 4 and 5 bears a date, believed to be 1678, although some locals believe it to be 1618.
