Description
Nos 5, 7, and 8 Overtown, formerly known as Parsloe's Farmhouse, is an 18th-century building. It is one and a half storeys high, constructed from rubble and chalk, and features a thatched roof. The building has been altered over time and includes two brick chimneys. It has an 'L' shaped plan with four modern dormers that have been cut into the thatch. On the ground floor, there are three casement windows, two of which have glazing bars, along with wooden lintels, modern brick surrounds, and a hood above the door on the left. At the rear, there is a long two-storey 'L' shaped extension that has a swept corner and a recess in the angle, which may have originally been a barn. This extension features one range of windows off centre to the left, with three-light wooden mullions, and a 19th-century glazing bar sash window to the right. The rest of the window arrangement is irregular.
