Overtown Manor

Overtown Manor is a building dated 1693, which has been altered with a large mid-19th century extension to the south. The original part of the manor is two storeys high, constructed of rubble with a hipped tile roof and three brick chimneys, one of which features a large external stepped stack. There is a coved cornice at the eaves. The facade includes seven windows, which are glazing bar sashes with moulded frames; only one window retains the lintel from a former mullion window. To the left, there is a six-panel door, while to the right is a half-glazed early Victorian door with a reeded surround and lower panels. A datestone with raised lettering reads "E.W. 1693" and is roughly central on the building. The west side has a hipped pebbledash return with two windows, one of which is tripartite to the left, and a dormer. There is a doorway to the right with a reeded frame and lower panels, topped with a bracketed hood. The large circa 1870s extension to the right is two and a half storeys high, forming a three-bay separate gabled house made of rough-faced rubble, with tiled roofs and pierced bargeboards. To the west, there are railings with urn finials on the standards, three gates, and a large standard featuring four panels of lozengework to the north.
