Description

The Vicarage is a building dating from the late 17th century and early 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the mid-19th century. The main front features a gabled roof and the structure is two and a half storeys tall, built of coursed rubble with a Cotswold stone roof. It has end chimneys with diagonal stacks and three dormer gables. The windows are 2-, 3-, and 4-light with chamfered stone mullions set in rebated surrounds, all featuring drips. The central first-floor window is a 20th-century leaded casement, while the left-hand first-floor window has been altered to include long mullions. To the right, there is a door framed in a stopped ogee-moulded surround, consisting of seven panels, two of which are glazed. There is a hipped extension to the left and a mid-19th-century, slate-roofed, two-storey domestic wing to the right, which has a stepped gable facing east and three irregular ranges of mullion windows with drips. At the rear, there is an early 17th-century extension that incorporates a re-used lead rainwater head inscribed "T(homas) M(ansell) 1710". Inside, the rear wing features early 18th-century half-panelling, which may have been reset.
