Description

Lynt Farmhouse is an 18th and early 19th century building. It is two storeys high and constructed of rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is covered with stone tiles and has an overcoved cornice. There are two chimneys with moulded capping. The front facade originally had one and three windows, featuring glazing bar sashes, with a casement window on the ground floor to the left. One window displays graffiti dated 1817. The door is located to the left of the centre, but has been altered from its original position. A mid-19th century, two-storey, one-window extension adjoins the left side. The rear of the farmhouse has four early 19th century windows with segmental heads and a bracketed pediment above the door. This rear range is an addition to the original front portion. Inside, a good early 19th century Adam-style fireplace is located in the front room, featuring clustered and fluted shafts with Corinthian caps.
