Description

This is an early 19th-century house, now divided into two separate residences. The main block is three storeys high with three windows, accompanied by single-storey wings that project forward and each have two windows. The front features a central, 20th-century glazed porch with modern doors, flanked by tripartite sash windows with glazing bars and pilasters. The first floor has 16 and 9-pane glazing bar sashes beneath cornices, while the second floor has only two glazing bar sashes, also under cornices supported by corbels. The wings have large pediments rising above the parapets, each framing a pair of glazing bar sashes divided by pilasters and set within a large segmental arched recess, featuring a frieze.

The rear elevation of the main block is two-and-a-half storeys high with two windows beneath full gables. These windows are three-light mullioned casements with multiple panes, set beneath exaggerated labels. The ground floor features similar, larger French doors. The wings on the rear echo the front with two-storey, similarly styled windows.

To the left of the house is a large courtyard wall with an arched opening containing a keystone. A second, double wall has smaller openings leading to cellar-like rooms and through to the garden. A terrace sits above these walls, leading to a small doorway made of unworked stone which gives access to a garden room with a curved wall decorated with shells and fossils. A 20th-century pitched roof currently covers what was formerly a dome.
