Description
This listing describes a group of four chest tombs located approximately 25 yards south of the South Chapel. The tombs commemorate Thomas Jeffries, who died in 1809, and members of the Jeffries family. Two of the chest tombs date from the late 18th century, while one is from the early to mid-19th century. The tomb for Thomas Jeffries features tapering sides and is topped with an urn. The other 19th-century Jeffries tomb is distinguished by diagonal scroll brackets at the corners and also has a large urn on top.
