Description

Nos. 9 and 11 Church Road, Hanham are an early 19th-century pair of houses built of pennant stone rubble with freestone dressings, and covered by a pantile roof. The houses are two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within stone architraves that have flat heads, keys, stepped voussoirs, and decorative detailing. A central semi-circular headed doorway is surmounted by an arched fanlight with radiating tracery, and topped with an open pediment supported by brackets and pilasters. A later trellis porch has been added. The houses have end pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a parapet with coping.
