Description
The Grange is an early 19th-century building located set back from the road and surrounded by modern housing. It features rendered walling and a hipped machine tile roof, with tall ashlar stacks that are set diagonally and topped with caps. The symmetrical two-storey facade has three units with good proportions, including a parapet and a pediment over the slightly projecting central unit. The windows are arranged in a one:one:one pattern and are fitted with glazing bar sashes and sliding louvred shutters. The central door opening has a reeded doorcase, with double doors that are marginally glazed and have reeded and shaped lower panels, a design that is also repeated on the shutters. A portico spans the full width of the central unit, featuring closed sides, a flat entablature supported by end pilasters, and two Roman Doric columns. Additional architectural details include a plinth course, a moulded cornice, and parapets with coping on the side units. To the right side, there is a pointed garden doorway, which is a common feature in the local area.
