Description

The front railings and piers to Air Balloon Hill Council Schools were constructed around 1905 by the architectural firm Latrobe and Weston. They are designed in the Art Nouveau style and made of limestone ashlar and wrought iron. The structure features three pairs of large gate piers topped with domes. The middle pair is inscribed with the word "BOYS," while the right-hand pair is inscribed with "GIRLS." These railings and gates are part of a larger composition that includes the Infant School, Junior School, and Instruction Centre.
