Description

The garden gate and wall, located 15 metres south-west of Acton Lodge, date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from rubble with freestone dressings. The wall, approximately 2 metres high, extends around 25 metres and features soldier course coping. At one end, there is a square column with a moulded cap. Perpendicular to this column is a basket-arched opening, which is set under coping and supported by rusticated pilasters that project from a plain wall situated between two square columns, each topped with a moulded cap.
