Description

The Jones Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, six metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. James the Less. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a moulded slab supported by corner balusters, with fielded panels on the south side and a large cartouche with an inscription on the north side. It has a moulded base and a plain plinth, although the railings are missing. The earliest legible date on the monument is 1767.
