Description
Westerleigh Tabernacle is a chapel dated 1844, as indicated by a shield on the north gable end. The building features Pennant rubble with limestone dressings and slate roofs that have raised coped verges and kneelers, along with a gable stack to the south and a finial to the north. It consists of a single hall with a room to the south and is designed in an Early English style.
The north elevation showcases a pointed arched door in a chamfered surround, complete with a hood mould and a relieving arch. Above this door, there are a pair of lancet windows with a relieving arch, a shield displaying the date, and weathered diagonal buttresses with limestone quoins. The east elevation has three similar lancet windows and limestone corbels under the eaves. The west elevation mirrors the east but includes a 20th-century lean-to addition on the right.
The lower room features an east door with a pointed chamfered arch and a glazed upper section, as well as two south windows that have pointed arches, chamfered surrounds, and relieving arches. The interior has not been inspected.
