Description

Westerleigh War Memorial is a war memorial built around 1919, made from granite. It features a Celtic cross that stands on a roughly-hewn plinth, which has a base underneath. The west face of the plinth is smoothed to display an incised inscription listing the names of six men, all privates, who died in the Great War. Below the names, there is an inscription that reads, "The blood of heroes is / the seed of freedom." The plinth is noted to carry the name of the Bodmin Granite Company.
