Description

This description is for a group of three chest tombs located 6 yards to the east of the east end of the north aisle of the Parish Church of St Mary in Marshfield. The tombs date from the 18th and early 19th centuries, with inscriptions for individuals including Miller, who died in 1797, and Hooper, who died in 1831. They are made of limestone ashlar and feature square panels and plain pilasters, with inscribed tops. These chest tombs are noted for their classical and local design, and they significantly enhance the setting of the church.
