Description

A pair of houses situated on the north side of East End in Marshfield. The building dates to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The houses are constructed of rubble, with a double Roman tiled roof featuring coped raised verges. Originally single-storey, they were later raised to two storeys with attics in the gables. The front elevation contains two windows and a door on the ground floor, and three windows on the first floor, all with 2- and 3-light casement windows. These windows have ovolo moulded mullions and surrounds, set beneath drip moulds. The house at No. 8 has an original 6-panel door, protected by a flat stone hood supported on brackets. A 20th-century door replaces the original at No. 10.
