Description
Oldland National School, dated 1837, is a Tudor-style building that is associated with St Anne's Church and Vicarage in Oldland. It may possibly have been designed by The FoAer Brothers. The school is two storeys high, constructed from pennant stone rubble, and features a weathered band over the ground floor. The roof is made of pantiles.
The façade has six windows, arranged in pairs, which are 2-light stone mullion Tudor arched casements. These windows have moulded heads, dripmoulds, and relieving arches, with three on the ground floor retaining patterned glazing. The doorways are also Tudor arched, with panelled spandrels in the penultimate bay and battened doors. The centre of the first floor has a blind 2-light window, where the mullion has been replaced by a corbel, and it is inscribed with "Oldland National School Erected MDCCCXXXVII". There are flanking lobbies, with steps leading to the left-hand one.
