Description
Proctor's Cottage is a late 17th century or early 18th century building that had its roof raised in the 19th century. It is two storeys high and constructed from coursed lias rubble. The cottage features two restored stone mullion casement windows on the ground floor, with two lights in one window and three lights in the other, both having drips. There is a central entrance porch that now has a lean-to roof and an oval window. A central chimney is present on the slate roof, which has coped verges, saddlestones, and ball finials. On the south side, there is a range of windows, including a three-light stone mullion casement with a drip on the ground floor. Inside, there are two stop-chamfered beams with plain end-stops, and a 19th century newel stair with clustered colonnettes on the newel-post. The cottage is included for its group value.
