Description
This is a house, originally one dwelling, now divided into two houses, with origins dating back to the 17th century. It was substantially altered and extended in the 18th century, and again in the 19th and 20th centuries. The construction is of rubble, with a pantiled roof and a concrete tiled roof to the rear. The main block is two-and-a-half storeys high and has three windows. These are 19th-century mullion and transom windows with multiple panes, set beneath wooden lintels. A 20th-century porch containing two doors is situated to the right; the door to number 7 features an ovolo and ogee moulded lintel with a carved grotesque head in the centre. A blocked window is visible on the first floor to the right, and each gable has a blocked window. A lower wing, two storeys in height and with two windows, is located to the right. This wing has been altered in the 20th century, with the ground floor to the left in a canted bay. The rear of the building features a single gable to the main block and a two-storey wing to the left, also with a gable. It includes a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows and a single-storey 20th-century extension.
