Description
Monsens Warehouse, also known as Breton House, is an early to mid-19th century warehouse situated on Vauxhall Quay, part of Plymouth’s Barbican area. The building is constructed from Plymouth limestone rubble with segmental brick arches spanning the openings. It has a rectangular plan and a 3-storey elevation, divided into a 2:1:2 bay arrangement with a central section originally containing loading doorways and a hoist boom. The ground floor features four doorways with ledged doors. Fenestration to the first floor and above consists of 20th-century replacements. The interior has not been inspected. The building was converted into flats in the early 1970s.
