Description

No. 15 The Parade is a mid-19th century corner shop located in Plymouth. The building features incised stucco with stucco detailing, and its roof is concealed behind a balustraded parapet adorned with twist balusters above a heavy moulded and modillioned cornice. It has a single-depth corner-site plan and stands three storeys tall.

The façade facing Parade Ope has a three-window range, while the front to The Parade is symmetrical with two windows. The upper floors are characterized by rusticated quoins and original 12-pane hornless sash windows set within keyed segmental-arched openings. The first-floor windows are framed by panelled pilasters on a plinth course, with consoles and moulded hoods, while the second-floor windows feature sill brackets and moulded architraves.

On the ground floor, there is a moulded fascia entablature above an original four-light double shopfront, which includes sidelights flanking splayed central doors with an overlight and a pair of round-arched glazed doors. The left-hand return into Parade Ope mirrors this design but has a continuous seven-light shop window and a house doorway with an overlight and a six-panel door on its left. The interior has not been inspected.
