Description

No. 30 Underwood Road is a probable manager's house from a former ropery, dating to the 18th century. The building features rubble walls with segmental brick arches and has a slate roof with heightened eaves and end brick stacks. It has a shallow-depth plan, likely consisting of two front rooms flanking a central entrance hall. The house is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The original window on the first floor to the left is a 12-pane hornless sash, while the other windows are later horned sashes. The central doorway has a six-panel door with fielded panels. The interior has not been inspected.
