Description
The sundial at the former Royal Naval Hospital, located in front and west of The Quadrangle Centre, dates from around 1765 and was created by John Gilbert of London. It features a brass sundial mounted on a turned freestone pedestal, which is set in a former composite millstone made of six stones dovetailed together. This sundial is part of a significant group of hospital buildings.
