Description

Carlton House is an early 19th-century townhouse located on Fore Street in Plympton St Maurice. It has an incised stucco facade with a plinth, and a concrete tile roof hidden behind a parapet with a stucco band. The building follows a double-depth plan, featuring two rooms at the front, flanking a central entrance hall. The symmetrical front has three windows on each storey. Original 16-pane hornless sash windows remain. The central doorway is panelled and pilastered, topped with a moulded hood supported by consoles, and contains a 20th-century door within plain reveals. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
