Description

This is a dovecot located about 23 metres south of Ham Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a 20th-century roof. It is constructed of rubble and features a replaced conical thatched roof topped with a weathervane, although the original turret is missing. The dovecot has a circular plan and includes a single doorway with a heavy timber lintel and a plain frame; the door has one strap hinge remaining. Inside, there are rows of L-shaped nesting holes and perches, originally numbering 435, although some of the lower holes have been blocked. There are no original timbers remaining in the roof. Ham Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
