Description
Court House Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to around 1630, with a datestone reset in a nearby barn. It was remodeled in the early to mid-19th century. The southeast elevation features rendered walls that are lined out, topped with a 20th-century pantile roof. The building has three storeys and includes three large pane sash windows with outer aluminium double glazing, along with paired windows on the ground floor. There is a central six-panel door set within a projecting porch supported by slender columns.
On the northwest elevation, the structure is built of rubble with a pantile roof and rendered stacks. This side has two storeys and attics with steep, coped stone gables. It consists of three bays, featuring three-, two-, and single-light casement windows that have hollow chamfered mullions and surrounds, complete with dripmoulds and relieving arches. To the left, there is a single-storey kitchen wing from the 19th century.
Inside, the kitchen boasts ogee moulded beams with stops and an early 18th-century spice cupboard. The kitchen chamber has a fine fireplace with an ovolo moulded surround, a coarsely fluted frieze, and a bracketed cornice above a four-centred arch.
