Description

Melbourne House is an early to mid-19th century, two-storey house situated prominently above the road. It is constructed of rubble with some ashlar dressings. The central section projects slightly and features banded quoins and stringcourses. A moulded cornice tops the building, finishing with a parapet. The front facade has three windows in simple surrounds, each with sill brackets and metal-framed shutters covering the sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor windows are splayed. Melbourne House forms a group with Stancliff House.
