Description
The Congresbury Arms is an inn dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features colourwashed render and a double Roman tile roof on the front range, while the rear additions have a pantile roof. The building is a long, two-storey structure with six windows facing the road, which has scattered casement windows and two doorways. The left-hand doorway has a flat hood supported by carved brackets and a two-leaf plank door, while the right-hand doorway has a single leaf plank door. At the rear, there is a parallel two-storey wing with two windows, a higher roof level, and a splayed wing to the north that has a hipped roof. The rear sections of the building have twelve- and sixteen-pane sash windows. Inside, there are some chamfered beams. The inn is part of a group with the Village Cross.
