Description
The sundial, mounting steps, walls, and gate located about 6 metres southeast of Macquarie Farmhouse date back to 1657 for the sundial, with the mounting steps and walls from the late 18th century to early 19th century, and a 19th-century gate. The sundial is made of limestone block, approximately 3/4 metre high, with a square base. It features a metal sundial with a gnomon on top, correctly aligned, and a circular plate with incised numerals and a sun face, along with the inscription: "I mark but ye sunny hours, 1657". This sundial is similar in style to one at Nailsea Court in Nailsea. About 1 metre south of the sundial, there are five rubble steps leading to a large top stand that is attached to a rubble wall, which is about one metre high and 4 metres long. To the left, there is a cast iron gate with horizontal struts, circular decorations, spear tops, and spear finials at the top. The wall extends approximately 12 metres further to the west, connecting to Macquarie Farmhouse and standing about 1.5 metres high.
