Description

These gatepiers, located 200 metres east of The Caves, date from the early 19th century. They are made of unworked stone and consist of a pair of roughly fashioned gatepiers leading to Banwell Monument. Each gatepier has a square section, a cornice, and a pyramidal cap, standing at 2.5 metres high. They are part of a larger collection of picturesque estate features created by the antiquarian Bishop Law of Bath and Wells on his Banwell estate.
