Description
This building is a summerhouse located 30 metres east of The Caves, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from unworked stone, brick, and pebbles and consists of a single room. Each side of the summerhouse features a false pedimented gable. The elevation facing the house has three pointed arches covered in small flat pebbles, while each side has a single arch entrance. The rear includes three arched head niche seats. The roof is a single pitch that slopes from front to back, designed to shed water between the rear wall and a lower inner skin. Inside, there is only a low stone seat. At the time of the survey, the structure was noted to be in poor condition. This summerhouse is part of a larger collection of picturesque estate features created by the antiquarian Bishop Law of Bath and Wells on his Banwell estate.
