Description

Moreton Mansions is a terrace of eight houses built in the 1860s, matching numbers 21 to 41 on the opposite side of Atlantic Road. The houses are constructed of ashlar stone with slate and tiled roofs. Each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. They feature three sash windows per floor, with a central bay window extending up to the attic level. A cast iron balcony is situated on the first floor, encircling the bay window. Four houses – numbers 7, 13, 15, and 1 Trinity Place – have tall gable dormers containing a three-light window and surmounted by a segmental pediment; some retain scroll finials. Numbers 9, 11, 17, and 19 are distinguished by semi-circular stone dormer gables.
