Description
The garden walls, piers, and gate attached to the northeast of Brick House Farmhouse date from the early 18th century, with a later gate. They are constructed of brick with limestone coping and feature a wooden gate. The walls extend about 16 meters in front of the farmhouse and stand approximately 3 meters high, with doorways on each side that have splayed brick heads. The walls slope down to the right and left to a height of about one meter and curve in towards a pair of square brick piers. These piers have flat limestone tops with moulded edges and are partly rebuilt in later brickwork. The wooden gate is designed with a central ship's steering wheel. Together, the walls create a garden forecourt, providing a fine contemporary setting for Brick House Farmhouse.
