Description
Corner Cottage, Melinda, and Evergreen are a terrace of three cottages built between the late 18th century and mid-19th century. They are constructed from roughly coursed granite rubble and feature gabled roofs, with Corner Cottage having a Delabole slate roof and the others covered with 20th-century slate. Corner Cottage has granite stacks with drip courses, while Melinda has a similar stack, and Evergreen features brick stacks.
Corner Cottage is designed with a three-unit plan, while Melinda and Evergreen have a two-unit central-staircase plan. There are later 19th-century and 20th-century rear outshuts flanking an earlier outshut at the center of Melinda. The cottages are two stories tall. Corner Cottage has a three-window range with granite lintels above a late 19th-century half-glazed door and horned 2/2-pane sash windows. There is also a 20th-century greenhouse at the front. Melinda and Evergreen each have a two-window range with granite lintels over similar sash windows. Melinda features a gabled porch with a late 20th-century half-glazed door, while Evergreen has a granite lintel over a half-glazed door from the 1980s. Inside, the cottages have 19th-century joists.
