Description

This is a small manor house dating to circa 1798. It is built in the Regency style and has a double-pile plan with an added 19th-century rear wing. The house has plastered walls and a hipped slate roof with wide bracketed eaves, along with plastered stacks with moulded caps. The main block is two storeys high and features a central panelled door within an open portico supported by Tuscan columns and a flat entablature. On the ground floor, there are two full-height sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has three sash windows with glazing bars.

To the right of the main block is a small attached block with a separate hipped roof, featuring a full-height sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor and smaller sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor. Further to the right is a lower two-storey service range with plastered walls, a hipped slate roof, and two plastered stacks on the ridge. This range has a panelled door and three casement windows with cast iron glazing on each floor, alongside a 20th-century window with glazing bars on the ground floor. A lower attached outbuilding, constructed in matching materials, is linked to a stable block by a brick wall. A 19th-century rear wing, also in matching construction, extends from the main house; in the angle between these, a 20th-century covered swimming pool has been built.

Internally, original fireplaces, cornices, and joinery remain. There’s an elliptical arched opening on the first-floor landing. The former bakehouse at the right end of the service range contains a large open fireplace, a bread oven, and a well.
