Description

Stour House is a building dating from around 1731 to 1750, with an early 19th-century wing at the back. It features a red brick front, is two stories high with an attic, and has four windows. There are two casements in the hipped dormers, and the windows are set in frames with intact glazing bars. The doorway is adorned with a moulded and eared architrave, topped with a hood supported by well-crafted enriched and voluted brackets. The eaves cornice is also enriched and includes modillions. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase, an 18th-century fireplace, and some panelling. Stour House is part of a group that includes Nos 21 to 43 (odd), No 43A, and the outbuildings.
