Description

These are a pair of 17th-century cottages, likely dating from around 1615, situated on the north side of St James Street. The cottages have painted red brick facades with stone ashlar gable ends. They have thatched roofs with dormers at the rear, and one dormer visible from the front of No. 5. Each cottage front has two windows, with a blind window above the doorway. A stone plinth runs along the base. The windows are casement type, and the ground floor openings have segmental heads. Small hoods supported by shaped brackets shelter the doorways.
