Description

No. 81 on Cheap Street is a building dating from 1625, with a front that dates from the 18th to early 19th century, and it appears to be part of a single structure with No. 83. The building has a stone slate roof and is continuous with No. 83. It features a moulded stone eaves cornice and plain door and window openings with keystones on the ground floor. The first floor includes a late 18th-century bow window supported by a coved corbel and cornice, along with a 3-light sash window that has pilaster strips between. There is a passageway at the left-hand end, and the shop interior is noted to be of interest. Nos. 73 to 85 (odd) form a group.
