Description
77 and 79 Cheap Street is a building dating from 1625, located on the northeast side of Cheap Street. It is a three-storey structure with a five-window bay front featuring a finely jointed cornice. All window openings, except for the centre bay, have segmental heads. The second-floor centre window has a semi-circular panel above it, with an architrave that continues around its outer edge. The first-floor centre window has a larger similar panel above it. There are metal guards on four first-floor windows, and the ground floor has large plate glass shop fronts. At the right-hand end, there is a round-headed yard entrance with round-headed double flush-panelled doors. Nos 73 to 85 odd form a group with this building.
