Description
The Music House, also known as Cumnor House, is a building dating from 1625 located on the south side of The Green. It features two three-storey red brick fronts, each with three windows. The central part of the frontage has an obtuse angle band. The building is from the late 18th century or early 19th century and includes sash windows, with a notable three-light sash window on the ground floor to the right of Cumnor House. Each house has a segmental bow on the first floor, with a three-light sash window located in the centre of the right-hand house and at the left end of Cumnor House. Cumnor House also features a round-headed doorway with a plain reveal, keystone, and fanlight. The adjoining house has an altered doorway and a carriage entrance on the right with a segmental arch, along with a lower stone rubble wing at the rear. There are interconnecting passages between the two houses. The listed buildings on the south side of The Green form a group with No 2, The White Hart Public House on Cheap Street.
