8/142 Walls and steps to walled garden, immediately west of Kingston Maurward House

GV II

Walls and steps to walled garden. Early C20. Rock faced ashlar walls, topped by open stone balustrades, with turned balusters and moulded copings. Carved stone urns on these, at intervals, - (some missing). At the west end the west wall extends south of the main garden, incorporating a flight of stone steps. These have rock faced balustrade walls capped by open balustrading as described above. At the bottom of the upper flight, square piers with tall vase finials; the lower flight has returned steps. At the east end of the main garden, facing the house, a flight of stone steps with stone balustrade walls. At the bottom of these square piers with moulded caps and ball finials.
