Description
The Samson Monument is a table-tomb located 5 metres north of the chancel of the Parish Church of St Peter, in the churchyard of Portesham. This mid-19th century monument is made of stone and features reeded pilasters along with a hipped top block that has reeded edges. On the tablet, there is an incised surround that reads: "Sacred to the memory of Thomas Samson of Kingston Russell, who departed this life February 24th 1830, aged 59 years."
